I know that Lumen runs on a 6 year old 1080 too, so my point is the convo is odd to me. I'm sorry but this isn't some extensive RT game. Just like Nvidia's RTX it can do any combination or individual effect of Reflections, lighting, global illumination, or shadows. Lumen is vendor neutral, that's what UE developed it. Also, it does use accelerators if it detects you have them regardless of if they are AMD or NVidia, software mode is just a fallback. Where does RT and it's impact to performance come into play in a title like this? My point about hardware accelerated RT is because his hardware would dictate these issues, except the puddles have no ray tracing, at all. Please share specs, so we can help or spark a greater discussion :) Did you not read the presentation on what lumen is? I have quite a few Nvidia cards and a couple AMD, so I can always double check if it's older cards without any RTX feature set or RDNA 2 even matters. Software lumen runs on hardware with zero RT capabilities / isn't proper HW accelerated RT ( I don't consider it RT, just fancy lighting software to mimic it).
